Welcome
Welcome to my blogg! Let me first say that I am in no way shape or form a financial advisor or expert. But what I am is a mother, women, friend, sister, sistah who is sick and tired of being sick and tired. As the old adamant says, its time for change and change starts now!
A little about me; I’m a 29 year old mother of one. I have a degree in Economics and work in finance yet all not even the Money and Banking course I took my junior year of college could have prepared me for my own personal fiscal responsibility; (or lack of). I’ve always been a hard worker and for the most part, I have worked multiple jobs. I got that speech several times from my older and wiser cousins about staying away from credit cards and of course I had to learn the hard way. So here I am at the age of 29 making a decent living with nothing tangible to show for all my years of hard work but debt and bad credit.
Being a mother puts a entire different perspective on this game called life and it usually takes something to completely knock you off your feet before you realize things have to change. This “something” backed by motherhood took place at the end of August 2008 when I hit rock bottom financially. While still on maternity leave, I came across this online support network for mothers and within that network was a forum purely dedicated to being thrifty. I literally (and still do) live in this blogg, picking up all the tricks of the trade. And it wasn’t really to far off from my own practices. Although I have always loved the finer things in life, very rarely would I indulge unless it was on sale. One of my greatest memories was cutting coupons with my grandmother as a child! But these ladies took it to a whole other level and this is in part what has lead me to create this blog. Not only do I want to share the things that I learned from that site but I want to create a network where we women can encourage each other to live a financially abundant life while creating wealth and eliminating debt!
